Atomic and Molecular Spectroscopy
|
In this experiment you will examine the quantized energy levels in various atoms and molecules. A commercial fiber-optic-coupled spectrometer is used to examine emission spectra from plasma discharge sources. The results are analyzed quantitatively and allow you to verify the Bohr model for hydrogen, verify the famous spin-orbit splitting in Na, and also to understand the structure of the N2 molecule. |
