On Statistics and Fits
You must do at least one experiment from each subfield: Atomic/Optical (AMO), Solid State/Materials(SSM), Nuclear/Particle (NPP).
In your first term, you must do at least one Category B experiment.
In your second term, you must do at least two Category B experiments.

A new experiment on Chaos may also be available. (See Melissinos & Napolitano, Sec. 3.7). In addition, a design your own experiment is possible for the last experiment. This can be an extension of a previous experiment, fixing an ailing experiment, or a new experiment with apparatus available in the lab (e.g. atom trapping). For this option, you should make a 2-page proposal to be approved by the instructor. This option is most appropriate for 2nd semester students who did well in Physics 441.
